Bike Lane Violations in Bristol
Caffe Gusto van - 13:20
canons way, Bristol
I cannot prove these 2 photos were taken at 8:25 and 1:20 respectively. Nor can I be sure whether or not the van moved at all during this 5-hour window, but I'm reporting him twice, because however you look at it, it's either a double offence or a super long offence which is easily equivalent to a double.
3/3 - outside Lloyds Banking Group HQ

Three cars here, all guilty.
The one in the foreground is WN03 OJP.

Moving day! House, not traffic!
St. George's Road, Bristol
When all the cars were standing still I was enjoying the kuxury of the cycle path until I met this removals van. I was forced to dismount to go round on the pavement.
White Van, working in Red Lodge
lower park row, Bristol
Ok, I've already reported the blue van. This one's for the white one in the background. Sorry it's not a better shot, but I wrote down the license plate. It's a Renault Master.
THREE vans, in one bike lane, captured in one shot, pretty much. (I didn't see the smaller van until I'd gone past)
Probably should have told all three vans they are immediately slap-bang next to one of the biggest car parks in the city. No excuse.
Junction of Lower Park Row and Park Row
lower park row, Bristol
Terry Olpin / Kingsley Thomas - 2 vans in a row. Perspective 2

2 Terry Olpin / Kingsley Thomas vans in a row.
Coronation Road Bristol
Coronation Road, Bristol
Car blocks entry/exit of cycle lane. Note driver obviously didn't want to get a ticket for parking on double yellow lines,so decides to dump the vehicle entirely on the path which some drivers seem to regard as free parking space.
Blocking the bicycle track
College Green, Bristol
What was the alsternative? Waiting on the road and blocking traffic? Better to obstruct cyclists.
Parking in cycle track
College Green, Bristol
Where to park while picking up some friends? The cycle track of course, so you don't obstruct the traffic.
Van parked on cycle track
Cattle Market Road, Bristol
So what to park on? The road? The footway? The cycle track - of course. Better to block the cycle track completely than to even slightly obstruct motor traffic.
Parking in cycle track
College Green, Bristol
Car deliberately driven into cycle track to park to take a mobile call.
That parking place in the middle of the road again...
Lower Norton Lane, Weston-super-mare
This one left so little space to pass it that I almost collided with a back wheel. It looked like someone else had hit the rear wing already. What a stupid place to park a shiny sports car!
Trowbridge Plumbing and Heating
Locking Road and Hutton Moor Road, Weston-super-mare
Mandatory Bike Lanes and Double Yellow Lines don't apply if you're attending a plumbing emergency in a white van and facing the wrong way.
Another car for sale
Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
I think the posters in the windows are car for sale ads like on http://bristol.mybikelane.com/post/index/10416 in the same location. Do cyclists give up trying to ride around irresponsible parkers and buy the car instead?
Stokes Croft again
Stokes Croft, Bristol
Well at least the person took the car to leave their car well illuminated so that you wouldn't miss it in the bike lane.
Stokes Croft again
Stokes Croft, Bristol
Stopping for food at Stix's I'd guess.... stomach before safety I always say...
Repeat offender
Stokes Croft, Bristol
This guy must have a thing against cyclists - comes out specially at night to block the lane
Next road along, same problem
Bristol Road, Weston-super-mare
Picture taken on the move from the other side of the road, so the number plate isn't recognisable. Lucky escape, green Peugeot!
Locking Road
Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
Another Day, Another Car-Cyclist Crash Cause parked in the Locking Road Cycle Lane. Utterly unnecessary - there were empty spaces in the car parking area across the road. But no, they've driven across the road to park facing the traffic in the cycle lane.
Autumn is coming, the leaves are turning red
Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
and the small cars are falling from the trees into the wide bike lane. Annoyingly, there were empty car parking spaces about 20m behind it, so there was absolutely no need to park in the bike lane on a Sunday.
Yes, this bike lane really is that wide. Sorry I didn't get its white edge line in shot.
Van not for sale
Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
Familiar face WM02EKP was parked just nudging the narrow advisory lane because the car for sale had its prime space in the wide bike lane across the road.
It's fine to park in the middle of the road...
Lower Norton Lane, Weston-super-mare
...even if it's still a through road for bicycles and horses! Just what I wanted to crash into at the end of a gloomy day!
Bike Lane Parking is an mlm service
New Bristol Rd, Weston-super-mare
Repeat offender in this area, but usually it parks in the advisory cycle lane, not the mandatory one.
This bike lane is wide enough to park a van in...
Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
...so let's park one in it. This wide bike lane is a favourite spot for parking, taking advantage of Avon and Somerset Police's policy of not acting on bike lane parking unless there are also double yellow lines.
Two in one!
Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
This Corsa isn't satisfied with parking in the bike lane on this roundabout approach, so they go for the verge too. If the car was a bit bigger, they'd probably try the hat-trick of the pavement too.
Stokes Croft again
stokes Croft, Bristol
Fast food has a lot to answer for this guy is just popping across the road for a quick snack from 'Rita's'
Stokes croft again
stokes Croft, Bristol
Well at least they only block the bike lane (and half the pavement)
Stokes Croft misdemeanour
Stokes Croft, Bristol
This lot were unloading for their gig but why not drive just round the corner and park their whilst they unload.
