Bike Lane Violations in Bristol
Blocked Bike Track Exit
Charlock Road, Weston-super-mare
That's OK, Black Car Owner. I didn't want to rejoin the road anyway and no pedestrians wanted to walk on the footpath past that hedge either!
Two Makes an Extra-Long Hazard
Tor Close and New Bristol Rd, Weston-super-mare
Just in front of the green vw, there was this bus, meaning I had to ride in the main traffic lane and slow everyone else down for even longer. (3 of 3)
Been Here for Days?
Tor Close, Weston-super-mare
A little bit further down the road, the green car that was in my way a few nights ago is still parked there. (2 of 3)
It's raining cars
New Bristol Rd, Weston-super-mare
Riding home in the rain, I really wanted to play "dodge the parked car" in the bike lane. Happily, this Volvo's owner was willing to help (1 of 3).
Stealth Parking
New Bristol Rd, Weston-super-mare
It's dark, I can't see my driveway, so I'll park straddling the bike lane and the path!
Look, the bike lane's exactly wide enough for my car!
Mead Vale and Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
This black Peugeot is parked just ahead of the red 4x4 from the previous report, showing how this bike lane is clearly too wide to be left clear for bicycles.
Wide Bike Lane = Car Parking Bay?
Mead Vale and Locking Road, Weston-super-mare
Once again in this favourite spot just down the road from the parking bays, a red 4x4 provides a useful traffic-calming service by making cycle users join the main traffic lane and slow everything down.
Chelsea Tractor
jamaica street, Bristol
A fine example of the 'just popping into the shop for....(whatever)'. Remember folks, in our convenience-culture society, it's much easier for you to park in the cycle lane on double yellow lines than to go to all that dreadful effort of finding somewhere legal and - heaven forbid - actually walking to the shop. Personal convenience first, everyone else a poor second.
Stokes Croft Multiple Violations
stokes croft, Bristol
Here we can see a world record attempt at getting the most number of vehicles to block the cycle lane. Anyone know better?.
Muller Road
muller road, Bristol
Second commute to new job along new route. This chump was here in the same spot BOTH mornings. I'm half expecting to see him tomorrow too.
It's hard enough pedalling up this hill without having to scooch round idiots like this.
Council lorry and trailer
Greystoke Avenue, Bristol
Greystoke Avenue, Bristol
Just inconsiderate and the trouble with "advisory cycle lanes" in Bristol cycling city. Here a council lorry RV58YZU has parked, perfectly legally, on this lane on Greystoke Avenue, Southmead. It is a dangerous place though as cyclists get up this short hill on a busy road, just around from a blind bend.
Caffe Gusto van - 13:20
canons way, Bristol
I cannot prove these 2 photos were taken at 8:25 and 1:20 respectively. Nor can I be sure whether or not the van moved at all during this 5-hour window, but I'm reporting him twice, because however you look at it, it's either a double offence or a super long offence which is easily equivalent to a double.
3/3 - outside Lloyds Banking Group HQ
canons way, Bristol
Three cars here, all guilty.
The one in the foreground is WN03 OJP.
2/3 - outside Lloyds Banking Group HQ

Moving day! House, not traffic!
St. George's Road, Bristol
When all the cars were standing still I was enjoying the kuxury of the cycle path until I met this removals van. I was forced to dismount to go round on the pavement.
White Van, working in Red Lodge
lower park row, Bristol
Ok, I've already reported the blue van. This one's for the white one in the background. Sorry it's not a better shot, but I wrote down the license plate. It's a Renault Master.
THREE vans, in one bike lane, captured in one shot, pretty much. (I didn't see the smaller van until I'd gone past)
Probably should have told all three vans they are immediately slap-bang next to one of the biggest car parks in the city. No excuse.
Junction of Lower Park Row and Park Row
lower park row, Bristol
Terry Olpin / Kingsley Thomas - 2 vans in a row. Perspective 2
